This is the starting point for Asian studies. In this section, librarians and library users introduce libraries and archives in Japan from their own unique perspectives.
The Asian Resources Room of the Kansai-kan of the National Diet Library
The Asian Materials Room of the National Diet Library (NDL), which for over a half century has played a vital role in collecting and providing materials in Chinese, Korean and other Asian languages, made a fresh start as the "Asian Resources Room" in October 2002, when the Kansai-kan of the National Diet Library was newly opened. Here, I introduce its current state and challenges as it enters its third year. (04/09/02)

The Library of the Institute of Developing Economies, Japan External Trade Organization (IDE-JETRO)
Area researchers and people interested in developing countries should visit this library at least once. It has excellent collections of primary materials, such as statistical data and newspapers published in not only Asia but also the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. The comfortable library can heighten your motivation toward Asian studies.(04/08/11)
