Features of collection	Sanskrit manuscripts and others. The collection has a total of 46,695 manuscripts in Sanskrit and other languages, of which 39,300 are in Sanskrit.

Notes for publications using collection	Copying of pattra manuscripts as well as paper manuscripts that are in poor condition is not permitted. Photocopying manuscripts that are already in microfilm is permitted. The library should be sent one complimentary copy of any publication that uses its manuscript(s).
Stories from visitors, observations	At present, the library is under the jurisdiction of the state government. Things are well managed. Copying in large quantities is not accepted. Partly because it is a public institution, it participates in the microfilming/microfiche project of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts.
